PRHN has seven focal groups namely Karachi, Lahore, Naushahro Feroze, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Haripur. Each group has a focal person who organizes focal group activities and meetings
Size of Focal Group
Should consist of a Core Group and a Focal person
A Focal Group is required to have members from at least 5 organizations for its initiation
Aims and Objectives of Focal Group
Develop agenda/action plan for group
To keep close contacts with the central network
To identify problems
Generate resources for Local Focal Group
Composition of Focal Group
Government representatives
Religious or educational institutions
NGOs working in the field of basic health
Human Rights organisations
Media (electronic & print)
Individuals and/or organisations having experience & interested in Reproductive Health
Any stakeholders or clients/community members interested in Reproductive Health or the social issues surrounding Reproductive Health
Visitors interested in attending meetings at discretion of the Focal Persons
Focal Group Meetings
Monthly meetings in the beginning then quarterly
The Core Group should meet at least once every two months
The Local Focal Group should meet at least once every two months
Membership Criteria for Local Focal Group
The member should be referred by some member organization
Should have attended formal orientation meeting of PRHN
Future Activities of Local Focal Group
Will be decided using the list of priority issues.
Develop action plan for activities.
Representation of Local Focal Group at the Secretariat / NWG
1 person from Core Group/Focal Person and LFG each

A Focal Person may initiate a Focal Group
Orientation workshop of one day should be held
There should be at least 5 members / organizations
Maintain communication with the Secretariat
NWG to decide when a new Focal Group becomes a member of NWG
Decision Making
Focal Group should have regular meetings and develop consensus to make decisions
The Core Group / Focal Person would facilitate the process |
